Novak: Govt maintains ban on gasoline, diesel fuel exports
MOSCOW, Oct 9 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has maintained its ban on exports of gasoline and on railway export of diesel fuel, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Monday during a meeting with his deputies.
On October 6, the government partially lifted restrictions on exports of diesel fuel to the ports via pipelines for companies that sell at least 50% of the produced fuel in Russia.
“The ban on exports of automobile gasoline and exports of diesel fuel by railway transport is maintained in order to ensure filling of the internal market and to prevent growth of wholesale prices,” Novak said.
Mishustin ordered the Energy Ministry, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, and Novak to oversee fuel prices and prioritize supplies to the Russian consumers. Novak said that the government would continue monitoring the fuel market and ensure price stability.
Mishustin also said the government would work on further improvement of the fuel market oversight efficiency. It is important that the strategic resources produced from oil work for Russia, he added.
